I made wontons. From scratch. For the first time.
I ate them *all* and now I feel sick.
i’d like to thank the 5 followers of mine who acknowledge my existence
Well, I taught myself to sew 12 years ago, then studied fashion design and textiles and for the past 6 years have been working self employed as ‘Madam Salami’ sewing for various companies and organisations as well as creating custom pieces for customers.
I’ve had dresses I made taken on tours around the country, I’ve made bunting for celebrations and weddings and some I made used in the House of Commons and at the Amy Winehouse foundation’s celebrations for what would have been Amy’s 30th birthday, amongst other places.
I made flags for Armed Forces day, colleges, charities and events like the Swansea city of culture bid last year and several that are flown at castles around the country, particularly here in Wales. I’ve made curtains, professionally, for customers including Eve Myles’ (Gwen Cooper from Torchwood) mum ;)
I also screen print and free machine embroider and have customers from around the world.
Further to this I teach people to sew in Swansea as part of ‘Sew Swansea’ with a very talented local dressmaker
How ‘good’ a seamstress I am, I think it a matter of opinion. ;)
Thanks for your question.
My name’s Tasha and I’m addicted to sewing.
Over the past few weeks I’ve bought a mighty fine array of fabric and haberdashery. Please commission me to create things for you or my children may starve as a result of my habit.. Won’t somebody think of the children!! ;)
I’ve just spent the last 2 hours lusting over fabrics online, which lead onto looking up Edward Lear illustrations which has turned back into lusting over fabrics online.
I will get dressed now and get some work done. Promise.
Been working all day today, time for a hot bath and some gin :)
-You didn’t take my pants off last night.
-Oh, I’m sorry about that.
-Then you can sit on my face.
My girl. Bed. Candle light. Rhod Gilbert.
Perfect evening. ;)
Yesterday was good, and happy. I spent it doing fabricy things - pre-washing cottons, ordering linings, zips, threads and pattern cutting (these things make me happy) Photographing my beautiful cat. Cooking and hanging with my boys. In the evening I curled up in bed with my girl, ate Ben&Jerry’s in candle light (from our spirit bottle candle holders, we’re classy, what can I say!?) watching stand up comedy online. It was a good day.
This morning I’ve woken up angry. Angry at how people treat those they claim to love and care about. It’s making me sad.
I don’t want it to get me down, there are so many better things going on. These people don’t deserve my head space.
